Panchkula: A special CBI court here on Monday summoned rape convict Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim along with two other accused on February 28 for framing of charges in the castration case.
The dera chief is currently lodged in the Sunaria jail at Rohtak where he is serving 20-year imprisonment for raping his female devotees. Keeping the security aspects involved in his appearance in the courtroom, the court of Kapil Rathi directed Sunaria jail superintendent to produce Gurmeet Ram Rahim through video conferencing (VC). He is already appearing through VC in two other murder trials he is facing at another CBI court of Jagdeep Singh in Panchkula district court.
The court hearing follows the CBI challan on February 1, framing Gurmeet Ram Rahim as the prime accused in the alleged forced castration of nearly 400 devotees with the help of Dr Pankaj Garg and Dr MP Singh, who were employed in a hospital inside the Sirsa-based dera.
