Jalandhar, July 24 (wishavwarta):– Continuing its drive to sensitize the people about cleanliness of surroundings, preventing stagnation of water, empty the water storage tanks, coolers and waste containers daily under ‘Mission Fateh’ program, the health department on Friday conducted the drive against vector-borne diseases in various parts of the city.
The members of the anti-larva cell including Mr Amit Kumar, Mr Davinder, Mr Sukhjinder Singh, Mr Jagwinder Singh, Mr Raj Kumar, Mr Sushil, Mr Karam Singh, Mr Ram Milan, Mr Tilak Raj, Mr Vinod Kumar and others inspected Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Deep Nagar, Deol Nagar, Kushth Ashram and PWD building and LIC office under ‘dry day’ initiative.
Three cases were found in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, five in Kushth Ashram, , three in Deep Nagar and two in PWD building and LIC office. The teams also issued three challans during the drive.
During the checking, the teams visited 196 houses and checked 76 air coolers and 264 waste containers.
District Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar told that the teams sensitized the people that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others so these must be cleaned regularly.
