DC REVIEWS IMPLEMENTATION OF ONGOING PROJECTS UNDER PUNJAB URBAN ENVIRONMENT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
Jalandhar, July 1(wishavwarta)- Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ghanshyam Thori on Wednesday reviewed the implementation of ongoing projects under Punjab Urban Environment Improvement Program (PUEIP) and Smart Village Campaign (SVC) scheme in Jalandhar.
Chairing a meeting to discuss progress of the Punjab Urban Environment Improvement Program (PUEIP) as a part of ‘Mission Fateh’ to ensure resurgence of state during ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, the Deputy Commissioner said that under the phase I of the PUEIP development works worth Rs 34 crore were allotted for the urban areas of the district which included Rs 21 crore for the Municipal Corporation and Rs 13 crore for the Municipal Committees adding that now in the second phase this share has been enhanced to Rs 78 crore including Rs 50 crore for the Municipal Corporation and Rs 28.5 crore for the committees.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Sub Divisional Magistrates to ensure that the work was started and completed in SVC program within the stipulated time period for the well being of the people.
He said that it was the need of hour for giving fillip to the overall development of the state.
Mr Thori directed the officers to adhere to the timelines for the completion of ongoing projects under the scheme.
He told that there should be not be further delay in submission of Phase-II projects to state government for funding.
He said that these funds would give a major impetus to the overall development of the urban areas of the district.
Mr. Thori said that the main motive of the schemes was to ensure comprehensive development of the urban areas of the district.
On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vishesh Sarangal, DDLG Ms Anupam Kler, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Rahul Sindhu, Mr. Jai Inder Singh, Mr Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, Mr Vaneet Kumar, DDPO Mr Iqbalpreet Singh and others were present .
