Jalandhar(Parteek Singh): Police had one more success in Rs 1.18 crore cash van robbery as one more accused arrested along with Rs 36.25 lakh. On November 10, Rs 1.18 crore was looted from HDFC bank cash van by 7 masked men near village Manakrai, when it was on the way towards Bhogpur to refill ATMs. One accused was arrested by police within an hour after the robbery and later four more accused were arrested by police by conducting raids, Rs. 97.94 lakh has been recovered from the total amount and six out of seven accused has been arrested by police. The accused was identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Nimma of Hamira, Kapurthala.
Inspector General of Police, Arpit Shukla said police has arrested the accused Sukhwinder Singh Nimma from Ladowali road, Jalandhar by police after conducting raids. He said accused on the very next day after the looting incident took place, he left for village Tehranpur, Uttar Pradesh to his relatives place. After police party raided his relatives place he fled back to Jalandhar and nabbed by police. Till now Rs 97.94 lakh recovered and all out efforts are being made to recover the remaining amount he said. Sukhwinder Singh was a labourer in Distillery at village Hamira. Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar(Rural) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the amount recovered from him was hidden under the ground by accused after the robbery. Gurpreet Singh Gopi is only accused yet to be arrested, he is also wanted in a murder case by police.
