New Delhi: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) today allowed the Delhi government to implement the odd-even car rationing scheme from November 13 to 17 with very people exempt this time around. The environmental protection agency announced its decision at a special meeting it had called today to determine whether the scheme will help reduce the near deadly levels of smog in Delhi and in the National Capital Region (NCT).
So, unlike the last time the scheme was implemented, two-wheelers, government servants, and women will also have to follow the car rationing scheme as NGT has ruled out any exemption.
Yesterday, the NGT had slams Delhi government for its decision to implement the scheme. It asked the Delhi government why it has not introduced the odd-even car rationing scheme earlier in the week, when the air quality was much worse.
