JALANDHAR 21 April : To fight the acute financial crunch, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has sought permission from Centre for the opening of liquor vends in the state to generate revenue to continue state’s fight against COVID 19.
As the collection of Excise Duty from the sale of liquor were key sources of generating revenue, Chief Minister had written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to seek permission for opening the liquor vends.
This information may have brought smile on the faces of BOOZ LOVERS, but it might be a huge relief from the state government, if the permission granted, as the state has already lost the majority of it revenue generation sources.
