Chandigarh Jan 2
The chilly winter season has broken all records and is making the people shiver even when they are properly dressed. It seems as if there is no end to the harsh winter weather, no matter what a person does to stay warm and cozy.
However, there are many in the country who don’t have the luxury of wearing warm clothes and staying warm, so in such cases there are people who come forward and offer help. Many times we hear adults raising money and helping the destitute in any way they can.
Here we have a young 15 year old boy Garv Singh who hails from Chandigarh and is trying his best to help the poor people in this winter chill. Garv Singh made a mobile app three years ago ‘Donate A Blanket’ through which he raises money and helps the unprivileged people by giving them blankets to stay warm.
This time his aim was to collect at least Rs 2 lac from the people which he could use to donate the blankets to the poor in Chandigarh. He has received donations from the people staying in Dubai and in America who are trying their best to help the poor in any way possible.
Talking about his idea of social service, Garv Singh said “The winter chill this time has broken all the records. So the idea that these people would also have a warm sleep provoked me to work towards it. I balance my student life as every day I take out 1 hour for this.”
