New Delhi: The Shriomani Akali Dal and BJP combine MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa slams Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal by failing to keep his promises of renaming a bridge in the national capital after the legend national hero Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Sirsa and his team accomplished the task today by putting signage boards in the Delhi flyover at Barapulla.
Talking to media at the site, Sirsa said that Kejriwal is an habitual offender and a liar who always forgets his promises once the elections season is over. He said that after making announcement to rename the Barapullah flyover as Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Setu dedicated to 300th anniversary of the martyrdom of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur ji, Mr Kejriwal forgot his announcement. He said that by doing so Mr.Kejriwal had tried to belittle the great personality of the Indian national hero about whom the Prime Minister Mr. Narinder Modi himself had said that nation owes it survival to Baba Banda Singh Bahadur ji and he bowes his head before this great personality.
Sirsa said that people wanted to see renaming of this bridge as per announcement of Kejriwal and he took up the matter with Kejriwal by writing a number of times to him and as also instructed PWD officials to put up signage but it appeared that Kejriwal had made up his mind to not to let this bridge renamed after the great national hero, so the officials also did not act.
He said that keeping the sentiments of the people in mind they have today put up signage of renaming this bridge a Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Bridge and hence after today it will be known by this name. He also cautioned AAP government as well as officials to refrain from making any changes in the present situation and said that otherwise people will give this government of ‘false promises’ a befitting response.
