Jalandhar: Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Iqbal Singh expressed grief over the demise of former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Chief and Ex-Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Virendra Kataria (88).
“I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Varinder Kataria. He was a very senior leader of Indian National Congress, former governor and veteran parliamentarian. He dis a lot of work for the development of his native place Abohar and always worked tirelessly for the upliftment of downtrodden people of society,” Iqbal Singh said in his condolence message.
“I had a close association with him and worked together as MP in the upper house of parliament. In fact, his death is a great loss to the nation,’ he said.
He extended his sympathy to the bereaved family, relatives and party colleagues on the death of Kataria.
Kataria, who breathed his last at AIIMS in New Delhi last evening, is survived by a son and a daughter.
