Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said Punjabis have completely distanced themselves from a faction-ridden AAP as its dubious leadership was always switching loyalties at any opportune moment to secure their vested interests.
In a statement, party MP Prem Singh Chandumajra said repeated desertions in AAP had left the party cadre completely confused about with whom it should be siding with. “Not only the common people of Punjab, but even the AAP workers don’t want to attend party meetings. “A few days back, Party’s Jagraon legislator and deputy leader in the legislator assembly Sarbjit Kaur Manuke preferred to skip AAP’s much touted Barnala rally as she could not convince people of her constituency to attend the event”. Citing the eroding public support as the reason behind Manuke’s reluctance to attend AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s rally, the SAD leader said the AAP leadership had directed Manuke to arrange at least 50 buses of supporters to the rally venue. “Since fulfilling such a condition was impossible she chose to miss the event.
Dubbing the AAP as a B team of the Congress party, the SAD leader said AAP had formed government in Delhi by aligning with the Congress party after calling the same its biggest enemy during its anti-corruption agitation. “AAP has even abandoned the core ideology on which it was founded. Now grabbing power by any dubious means was its sole agenda. He said the people had however seen the true face of AAP and its candidates would be seen forfeiting their securities in the forthcoming parliamentary polls.
