Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh have condoled the death of Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Dass Tandon, who died in Raipur after a brief illness.
In the demise of Tandon, who had also been Deputy Chief Minister and cabinet minister of Punjab, the state as well as the country has lost a seasoned administrator and grassroots leader, said Captain Amarinder Singh. Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, the Chief Minister said his prayers were with them in their hour of grief. As a mark of respect, the Punjab government declared half a day holiday on Tuesday afternoon.
Expressing heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family, Rana KP Singh prayed the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to the family to bear this loss.
