Chandigarh: A legal notice has been sent to former Akali minister Bikram Singh Majithia by Zee Media Corporation Limited for his alleged defamatory allegation against the TV Channel’s Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Editor Dinesh Sharma.
The Supreme Court lawyer Petal Chandhok representing ZEE asked Majithia in the legal notice to tender an unconditional written apology and publicly withdraw the false allegation against his client. During a press meet at Hoshiarpur Majithia had reportedly alleged that Dinesh Sharma had demanded Rs 20 crore from him before 2017 Punjab Assembly elections for favourable reportage.
Majithia was asked in the notice not to repeat such defamatory act in future and pay Rs 100 crore on account of damage being suffered by his client till now.
