Chandigarh: A CBI court here on Tuesday has convicted AIG of Punjab Police Service (PPS), PS Sandhu in the seven-year-old corruption case. The quantum of sentence will be announced on August 3 by the court of the additional district and sessions judge Gagan Geet Kaur.
On July 13, 2011, the CBI had arrested Sandhu, who was posted as the AIG (internal vigilance cell) at the Punjab Police headquarters at that time, nabbed redhanded while accepting a bribe of 50,000 from Nishant Sharma at Cafe Coffee Day in Sector 28.
