Jalandhar: In order to ensure 100% attendance of the polling staff for the rehearsal of Shahkot by-election on coming Sunday, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar has asked the officers to ensure get the complete Videography of rehearsal done on Sunday.
In a communiqué to the officers, the Deputy Commissioner said that there was zero tolerance in case any member of the poll staff would be found absent. He asked the officers to ensure that several videographers were deployed at the venue of the rehearsal to record the attendance of the poll duty. Sharma said that these videographers would be entrusted the task of recording the entire event so that the presence of poll staff was marked.
The Deputy Commissioner said that along with videography physical attendance of the polling staff would also be marked on the occasion by the teams specially deputed for this task. Sharma said that he would himself visit the venue of rehearsal to check the attendance of the polling staff. He cautioned the officials that stern action would be taken against the staff who would not report on duty.
Likewise, the Deputy Commissioner said that any sort of indiscipline during the rehearsals would also be dealt with a heavy hand and appropriate action would be taken against the employees indulging in such malpractices. Sharma said that any sort of callousness in deliverance of election duty was both unwarranted and undesirable. He also said that any sort reluctance on part of the employees to join this ‘national service’ could never be tolerated at any cost
