19 CADETS OF THIS INSTITUTE SELECTED FOR NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY AND 01 FOR INDIAN NAVAL ACADEMY
S.A.S. Nagar, May 10 (Wishav Warta)- Cadets of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute continue to excel and win laurels for themselves and the Institute. 19 Cadets of this institute have been selected for National Defence Academy (NDA) and 01 Cadet for Indian Naval Academy. Disclosing this Director, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute, B.S. Grewal said that Thirty five cadets appeared in the NDA entrance exam and 28 cleared the examination. These cadets were put through the Services Selection Boards at various centers in the country and 20 cadets cleared the SSB. Of these one cadet is an aspirant for the Indian Naval Academy and the other 19 are in the NDA merit list.
Mr. Grewal told that seven cadets of their institute got positions in top 50 out of more than five lakh boys in the country. Cadet Gurbeer Singh Sohal and Cadet Amol Gautam got 10th and 12thpositions respectively. Gurbeer Singh Sohal belongs to Ropar and his father is an Engineering Manager. Cadet Amol Gautam belongs to Nangal and his father is an advocate. Other cadets who got positions in the top 50 are Shubhdeep Singh, Raghav Arora, Japneet Singh, Tegjeet Singh and Aashray Thukral.
He said that AFPI has already sent 90 boys to NDA and other service academies. Once these cadets join NDA the institute would have notched up more then 100 successes in a little over five years. 20 AFPI trained boys are expected to become commissioned officers on completion of their training in June this year. The efforts of AFPI to make Punjab the Sword Arm of India once again are clearly beginning to bear fruit.
