Chandigarh: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed Congress for compromising national security by allowing access to crucial data about Indian nationals to Cambridge Analytica.
BJP national Secretary Tarun Chugh said though Congress chief Rahul Gandhi tried to sweep the issue under the carpet, it was now out in the open that Congress was a client of Cambridge Analytica.
The BJP leader said it was height of Congress’ frustration that it opted to conspire against national interest to grab power by dividing the Hindu community. “The Congress seems baffled by the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said adding that it was now indulging in divisive politics to stage a comeback.
Chugh alleged that providing data of Indians residing in 600 districts to the foreign firm was a dangerous ploy but Congress, as always, preferred to sacrifice national interest for petty political gains. He said Congress was following the ‘divide and rule’ policy practised by the British to rule India. He alleged that the Congress was trying to weaken the social fabric of the country.
Chugh said Congress and other parties who have been rejected time and again by the electorate, were trying to form a common front to mislead the people even as they don’t see eye to eye, have no common agenda or ideological harmony.
The BJP leader claimed that the various groups with different agendas won’t be able to stop the ‘Modi Tsunami’. He said the people of the country were convinced and impressed by the ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ concept of Prime Minister Modi and won’t allow the likes of Congress to sell the interests of the country by leaking or supplying data to foreign technology firms.
