Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of the State, especially to the Jain community, on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
In his message, Captain Amarinder Singh exhorted the people to follow the ideology and teachings of Lord Mahavira, who propagated the principles of simple living, high thinking and non-violence to attain alvation through the path of spirituality.
The Chief Minister said Lord Mahavira’s message of universal brotherhood, communal harmony and peace was still relevant in the context of today’s materialistic society.
Captain Amarinder Singh called upon the people to follow the path shown by Lord Mahavira to further strengthen the ethos of secular, social and communal harmony in the society.
