Chandigarh: The President of Aam Aadmi Party and member of Lok Sabha from Sangrur, Bhagwant Mann on Saturday donated three wheeler scooters to differently able people at Sangrur. In the beginning of the initiative, Mann donated scooters to 7 people during a programme at Sangrur Rest House.
Talking to the media, Mann said that there is a provision in the MPLAD Fund that the MP can use his funds for providing vehicles to the differently able people. He said that earlier as well wheel-chairs were provided to the deserving people and the process will keep on going in the future as well. He said that the vehicles will help these people to travel places for their works.
Mann said that AAP has always focused to provide facilities to the differently able people and the party before vidhan sabha elections had released a special manifesto for the ‘people with different abilities’ at Moga. AAP had promised to give 2500 monthly pension, to fill up the govt. posts reserved for the category within an year and start a special helpline for the people etc. Mann also urged Punjab govt. to implement Right to differently able people Act-2016 in the state in letter and spirit.
