Chandigarh: The Punjab Cabinet will meet on 15 February at Chandigarh, important decisions likely to be taken. The Cabinet will hold a meeting at 3:30 in the afternoon. The Cabinet is expected to approve the new policy for wheat transportation and the new system for labour management during the upcoming Rabi season. The new policy has been prepared under the Punjab government’s decision to abolish the truck unions so that the truck fares across the state should be made same. Grain market contracts are ending on March 31, due to which government is likely to come out with the new policy.
The Cabinet is also likely to table the proposal to link the mining department to the irrigation department.
