Chandigarh: Case against the order of Punjab & Haryana High Court quashing the appointment of Suresh Kumar as Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Punjab will be represented by former finance minister P Chidambaram. He will appear before the court today in appeal filled by Punjab government defending Suresh Kumar’s appointment.
Chidambaram a Supreme Court judge will appear before the double bench of Justice Rajesh Bindal and BS Walia. Atul Nanda, Punjab advocate general will accompany senior Congress leader. The appeal was filled last week by Punjab government.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court last month set aside the appointment of retired IAS officer Suresh Kumar as chief principal secretary, Punjab. Last month the court of Justice Rajan Gupta said he was holding the post in violation of Article 166(3) of the Constitution.
