Chandigarh: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed a Computer Operator of Sewa Kendra red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 4,000.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said computer operator Harkinder Singh posted at Sewa Kendra village Harnampura in Ludhiana district was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Supinder Kaur of village Natt, PS Dehlon, district Ludhiana. The Complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused computer operator has demanded Rs. 6500 for issuing the date of birth certificates of her three children and the deal was struck at Rs. 4000.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused Computer operator was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 4,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
