Chandigarh, January 17: The written entrance examination for admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun for January 2019 Term will be conducted at Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan here at Sector-15, Chandigarh on 1st and 2nd June, 2018.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Directorate of Defence Services Welfare said that only boys were eligible to apply for the admission to the RIMC, Dehradun. Candidates appearing for the above test should not be less than 11 ½ years in age but should not have attained the age of 13 years as on January 1, 2019 i.e. they should have born not earlier than January 2, 2006 and not later than July 1, 2007. They should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC i.e. on January 1, 2019. Selected candidates would be given admission in Class VIII. The Written part of the examination would consist of three papers namely, English, Mathematics & General Knowledge. Minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50%. The viva-voce test will be held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam & the date for the viva-voce test has been fixed as on October 4, 2018.
The spokesperson further said that copies of the application forms with prospectus and set of old question papers could be obtained from the Commandant RIMC Dehradun on payment of Rs. 600/- for General Candidates and Rs. 555/- for SC/ST candidates alongwith cast certificate through Demand Draft in favour of The Commandant RIMC Dehradun payable at SBI, Tel Bhavan (Code – 01576) Dehradun.
The Address should be Typed/Written clearly in capital letters with pin code and contact number. RIMC will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit of prospectus caused be illegible or incomplete address.
The applications in duplicate in prescribed form and five passport size photographs, Birth Certificate, State Domicile Certificate and Certificate from Principal of the School, in original with photograph affixed on it duly attested, stating date of birth and class in which the student was studying. The applications duly completed must reach Directorate Defence Services Welfare, Punjab, Sainik Bhawan, Sector 21-D, Chandigarh on or before March 31, 2018. The applications received after March 31, 2018 will not be entertained, the spokesperson added.
