Chandigarh, November 16, 2020 (wishavwarta):-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Senior Leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema has levelled serious allegations against Chief Minister Amarinder Singh for extending political patronage to drug mafia in the state, demanding his resignation, saying CM’s adviser Sandip Sandhu, OSD Ankit Bansal and Daman Mohi be arrested immediately and handed over to the investigating agency.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the drug mafia, which then Badal government had nurtured during its 10-year tenure from 2007 to 2017, was now being allegedly run by Capt. Amarinder Singh himself.
He said the association of Rano (Khanna) Sarpanch and former Youth Akali leader Gurdeep Singh, to the advisor to the Chief Minister Sandeep Sandhu, OSD Ankit Bansal and Daman Mohi corroborated the allegations.
The Lop released photos of the three accused along with photographs of Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia to the media. According to Cheema “Not only these pictures, more of their photos and videos have gone public on social media, which proves the point”. Cheema added that the Chief Minister office was providing police security to drug smuggler Gurdeep Rano.
Cheema said that captain Amarinder Singh, who had taken the oath in the divine presence of Sri Gutka Sahib to eradicate the menace of drugs four weeks of assuming power, saying it was now providing security to the drug peddlers, thus pushing the youth of Punjab into drug net, demanding he should step down as chief minister immediately.
Cheema said that since the Chief Minister’s Office had been exposed through Gurdeep Rano, another Special Task Force (STF) had been set up to give a clean chit to his OSDs.
Harpal Cheema added that the Captain Amarinder government had been reduced to a mere clean-chit government, saying minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot involved in a multi-crore scholarship scam was also given a clean chit, saying he was now preparing ground to issue clean chit to his OSDs, adding all the three accused be dismissed and arrested immediately.
Giving a 10-day ultimatum to the Punjab government, Harpal Singh Cheema said that if the Captain government failed to hand over the investigation to the investigation agency, the AAP would bring it to its toes.
Harpal Singh Cheema on the occasion said that he would write to the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court offerin leads in the whole affair.
