• ADDITIONAL CHIEF SECRETARY CALLS UPON PEOPLE TO FOLLOW THE LIFE AND TEACHING OF SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI
Chandigarh/Sultanpur Lodhi (Kapurthala), November 11-
Sea of devotees today converged at the spectacular light and sound show being organized by the Punjab government at the holy city of Sultanpur Lodhi to commemorate the 550th parkash purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.
A crowd of more than 18,000 people attended the spectacular light and sound show in which Punjabi folk singer Mr. Harbhajan Mann connected the devotees with the bani of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. The spectacular light and sound show showcases the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji through ultra modern technology. The spectacular light and sound show with Multi laser show, Grand 200 feet stage, Water curtain projection, Hydraulics on stage, Projection mapping with surround sound and others regaled the audience. Likewise, hundreds of theatre artists gave their live performances during the event.
Meanwhile, addressing the gathering Additional Chief Secretary of Punjab Ms. Vinni Mahajan said that this path breaking initiative of the state government was aimed at acquainting the younger generations of the state with the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji by using the hi-end technology. Ms. Mahajan said that the show was a humble and befitting tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji by the state government. She said that light and sound show beautifully projected Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy in the form of his universal message to our society.
The Additional Chief Secretary also said that through the show the ethos of tolerance, peace, communal harmony, women empowerment and protection of natural resources were brought alive. She said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s efforts to promote social equality were also aptly showcased to the audience in right letter and spirit. Ms. Mahajan called upon the people to follow the teachings of the great Sikh Guru for carving out a harmonious society.
On the occasion Principal Secretary Transport Mr. K Sivaprasad, Deputy Director Local Government Mr. Barjinder Singh and others were also present.
