Jalandhar(Wishav Warta): In a step aimed at facilitating the people to have access of the services by district administration in a smooth and hassle free manner, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today conducted checking in the various offices/ branches of the administration in District Administrative Complex.
The Deputy Commissioner, who spent more than two hours in the various offices/ branches of the district administration, asked all the heads of these branches to ensure that people do not face any sort of difficulty in getting their routine administrative works done. Mr. Sharma said that this inspection was a supportive supervision to functioning of the various departments and was not aimed at fault finding but to remove shortcomings if any the working of branches.
The Deputy Commissioner started his inspection from the office of District Development and Panchayat Officer where he directed the officials to maintain the registers in a proper manner. He also asked the officers to ensure that the entire record was preserved aptly through computerization. Sharma also asked the officers/ officials to ensure that all the files of the department were kept in appropriate way.
During the inspection in office of Sub Registrar II, the Deputy Commissioner checked the catalogue register, stamp duty register, parcha register, stock register, will deed register, cash book and others. He asked the Sub Registrar to ensure that there was no pendency of any sort in the office. Sharma also checked the entire record the land deeds done recently and asked the officers to ensure proper transparency and accountability in the system. He said that people must be benefitted from the citizen centric decisions and services introduced by the state government.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the people present on occasion and asked them about any sort of problem faced by them. The people expressed complete satisfaction on the ongoing mechanism. Sharma apprised them that in consonance with the orders of Additional Chief Secretary cum Financial Commissioner Revenue as an alternative to witness by Nambaradar or the Municipal Councilor, for property registration, any two witness could come forward provided they produce either of the documents including Aadhar card, PAN card, Election Commission Voter Identity Card or passport. He said that this would give a big relief to public because earlier there was delay in registration of documents in case Nambardar or Councilor was out of station or not available due to any other contingency.
Later on the Deputy Commissioner also inspected DRA (M&T), GP Fund, Special Land Acquisition Collector (SLAC), Election, Riot Victim and other branches. In these branches, Mr. Sharma stressed on the need for modernizing these branches besides ensuring systematic upkeep of the record. He said that besides clearing all the pendency the departments/ branches must ensure that people do not face any sort of problem for getting their day-to-day administrative work done.
