Jalandhar(Parteek Singh): Police has arrested 3 more accused of HDFC cash van robbery including the mastermind behind the robbery and 61.69 lakh recovered from their possession along with pistols, cartridges and three bikes, which were used in the robbery. All the three were arrested in Rajasthan during the raid of police party. Rs 1.18 crores was looted from a cash van by 7 masked men a few days ago near village Manakrai, which was on the way towards Bhogpur to refill ATMs. Accused were identified as the mastermind of the robbery Satinderpal Singh alias Happy of village Nadal, Kapurthala, Manoj Kumar of Lakhan Kalan, Kapurthala and Sukhdev Singh Sonu of Dala, Kapurthala. Earlier Rajnit Singh and Jaskaran Singh were arrested by the police. Five accused are arrested, but two accused Sukhwinder Singh Nimma and Gurpreet Singh Gopi is yet to arrest.
Inspector General of Police, Zone-II Jalandhar, Arpit Shukla said After the joint operation of Jalandhar and Kapurthala police these three accused were nabbed and Rs 61.69 lakh was recovered from them. The swift action of police cracked the case as one accused was nabbed by police within an hour after a long case and crossfire in which Ranjit Singh was injured. During the preliminary investigation, Ranjit revealed the names of co-accused and admitted the robbery, on this basis, Jaskaran Singh was arrested from his house and 13.38 lakh was recovered 1 pistol and cartridges from him.
He said a special investigation team of Kapurthala police was constituted which conducted a raid in Rajasthan at the house of Manoj Kumar’s maternal uncle Banwari Lal of village Barla, district Sikar Rajasthan and arrested all three of them, Rs 16.37 lakh was recovered from Manoj Kumar, Rs 14.96 lakh was recovered from Sukhdev Singh Sonu and 16.98 Lakh was recovered from the possession of Satinderpal Singh. Shukla said the name of DSP Sarabjit Singh is recommended for the gallantry award for his bravery as he stood firm in a crossfire and nabbed the accused and other officers will also get rewards. He also recommended names of SSP Jalandhar(Rural) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and SSP Kapurthala to Chief Minister to appreciation letter.
