Chandigarh: Severely condemning the dastardly attack on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans at Pulwama, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Harpal Singh Cheema, said on the floor of the House on Friday here that act was an attack on humanity.
Offering his rich tributes to the martyrs, Cheema said that the supreme sacrifices they made by them would not go waste. He said that Aam Aadmi Party was with the country in this hour of grief and offers its heart-felt condolence to the bereaved families of the martyrs and assures them that they would find AAP behind them in their bereavement.
Cheema demanded that the state government led by Captain Amarinder Singh-led government should immediately announce a financial relief of Rs one crore each as relief to the next of their kin, besides giving job to a members of the martyrs’ families.
He said that at this hour of grief, the immediate the AAP stood with the state and the union government.
Cheema further said that the act had not only sent shock waves across the country but had also exposed chinks in the state and central security agencies’ armour. He said It was time to tell them to be alert to take on such exigencies.
Answering to a media query, Cheema said that the Pulwama terrorist attack should not be linked to the Kartar Sahib corridor. Linking the act to it would be a worthless talk as Guru Nanak Dev preached the gospel of ‘sarbat da bhalla’
Others senior leaders of the party who condemned the act included Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, Meet Hayer, Amarjit Singh Sandoa, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Jai Kishan Rori and state media in charge Manjit Singh Sidhu.
