Chandigarh: Education Department is working in tandem with the private companies to create employment opportunities in the State and in this direction the Vocational Training Program is proving to be a turning point, informed Om Parkash Soni, Education Minister Punjab, after reviewing the progress of Vocational Training Program being run under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), at his camp office here today.
Elaborating further, Soni said that during the academic year 2017-18, 480 eligible students of Vocational Training Program were provided employment.
After thoroughly evaluating the various facets of this program during the meeting, it was decided to facilitate the vocational trainers soon by ensuring timely payments, removing the anomalies in their wages, fixing their salary as Rs.18000 per month, from next financial year, stopping the TDS deduction, with pay six month maternity leave, not to send students to other states for training and to providing books timely to students of Vocational Training.
