Chandigarh: The Government agencies and private millers have procured 9908342 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 31 while payment worth Rs.14055.44 crore has been transferred to the accounts of arthias/farmers by the government.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the government agencies procured 9835836 MT of paddy while 72506 MT has been procured by the millers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN has procured 3360574 tonnes, MARKFED 2281509 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 2016287 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 976861 and 1030123 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 170482 MT paddy.
