Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday while addressing Punjab CM Capt. Amarinder Singh said that the municipal corporations and committees and equally responsible for polluting the water sources as industries so he must also order them to avoid release polluted waters in the water sources of state. In a press statement, AAP co-president, Dr. Balbir Singh said that AAP has raised the issue of powerful industries releasing their waste into the rivers and other water sources of state with NGT and other authorities. The party also demonstrated against it on Wednesday and tried to present bottles filled with polluted water to CM. The party has also demanded a special session of Vidhan Sabha on the issues of waters.
Dr. Balbir said that AAP welcome Capt. Amarinder’s directions given to the industries to avoid polluting the waters and warning of taking action against them. He asked the CM to ask the govt. departments to implement these directions within 15 days. He repeated that AAP will continue its fight against bigwigs responsible for spreading diseases by releasing industrial waste in the water sources.
