Jalandhar, July 1(wishavwarta)- Under ‘Mission Fateh’ program of the state government to sensitizing the people to clean the water storage tanks, coolers and waste containers daily, the health department on Wednesday carried out a drive against vector-borne diseases in various areas of the Jalandhar.
The teams of the anti-larva cell of the health department led by Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar detected dengue larva at six places.
The members of the anti-larva cell including Mr Amit Kumar, Mr Sumit Kumar, Mr Harwinder Singh, Mr Shakti Gopal, Raj Kumar, Mr David Masih and others inspected Kabir Nagar, Master Mehanga Singh Colony and various wards of Civil Hospital.
During the checking, the teams visited 124 houses and checked 51 air coolers and 181 waste containers.
Dr Satish Kumar said the teams’ members apprised the people that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others so these must be cleaned regularly.
He added that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes
