• Says avoid rumours, check facebook page of Mohali Administration for updates
SAS Nagar, March 26( Wishavwarta)-Updating the status of COVID-19 patients in the district, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan informed that as of now 5 positive cases are in the district and all of them are stable and doing well.
He said that 480 people including the contacts of the patients are under home quarantine and are asymptomatic. He further informed that extensive testing is being done of all the contacts of the positive cases.
“On Wednesday 33 samples of the contacts including the doctors and paramedics looking after the COVID-19 positive patients were sent for testing and 26 samples have been reported negative while test reports of 7 are awaited, said he”. On Thursday, sampling has been done of 50 contacts and has been sent for further investigation, he added.
Making an appeal to the public not to panic in case of minor cough or fever, the Deputy Commissioner said that people who don’t have a travel history or that of being in contact with a COVID-19 positive patient, need not panic. He said that panic calls generate undue pressure on the doctors working towards managing the genuine cases. He asked the people to stay indoors and stay safe in the interest of one and all.
Deputy Commissioner advised people to avoid falling prey to rumours and asked them to check the newly created mohali administration page on facebook for all the official updates. They can also go through the tweets of DC Mohali for the same, said he.
