Chandigarh, April 6: State Vigilance Bureau, today nabbed head constable (HC) Jatinder Singh red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000.
Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said HC Jatinder Singh reader of SHO Raman Mandi, Jalandhar was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Sukhwinder Singh of Ajit Nagar, Jalandhar city. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused police official was demanding Rs 5,000 to struck off his name from the list of Kalandra u/s 110 CrpC.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused HC was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under different sections of prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB police station Jalandhar and further investigation was under progress.
