– appeals to PAC (Central) to review decision
Chandigarh, January 25 –A meeting of the Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was held in Chandigarh here on Friday at which certain decisions were taken unanimously.
The meeting unanimous decided to reject the resignation of Sangrur Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann as state president of the party. The meeting adopted a resolution and sent it to the PAC for review.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Principal Budh Ram, was attended by Bhagwant Mann (MP), Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Vidhan Sabha, Harpal Singh Cheema, Prof Sadhu Singh,, Aman Arora, Prof Baljinder Kaur, Kultar Singh Sandhawan, Amarjit Singh Sandoa, and other party top brass.
Addressing media persons after the meeting, Prof Budh Ram said the resignation of Bhagwant Mann had been unanimously rejected by the core committee. The committee had appealed to Mann to review his decision in this regard to strengthen the party.
Reacting to the meeting’s decision, Mann said that he would take a decision in this regard after his with Party national convener and Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal anytime soon, to clear the air about the grant of pardon by him to Bikram Singh Majithia on the menace of drugs.
Hailing the Punjab and Haryana High Court decision to vacate the stay in respect of the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Mann said that now Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh should expedite the probe to bring those behind the sacrilegious acts to justice.
Speaking on the occasion, Cheema said that efforts were afoot to enter into poll alliance with any political party, except the Congress and SAD-BJP, sharing similar view on the issues and concerns of Punjab and the Punjabis.
