Jalandhar(Wishav Warta): In order to make the people aware about the ill effects of burning the crackers, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has launched a massive drive via social media. Through this campaign the Commissioner of Police (CP) Praveen Kumar Sinha has appealed the people to celebrate the festival of lights with full religious fervor and gaiety. Likewise, he has also asked the people adhere by the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to burst the crackers between 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Diwali night. Sinha that all the residents of city must make a firm resolve to celebrate Diwali with less crackers and as per the time fixed by the High Court.
The Commissioner of Police said that the rising pollution was a major curse for the humanity and it was the high time that all of us should join hands for overpowering it. He said that controlling the pollution was the responsibility of every citizen of the city and each one of them should come forward for checking the rising pollution. Sinha said that every city resident must ensure that fewer crackers were busted on Diwali so that noise and air pollution could be checked. Giving a clarion call for safe and pollution free Diwali, the Commissioner of Police said that festival of lights should be celebrated in the right spirit. He also wished a safe, happy and prosperous Diwali to all the residents of the city.
