Chandigarh, October 15:The procurement operations state-wide are sailing smooth informed an official spokesman of government of Punjab.
Elucidating the details of the procurement scenario, he said as of October 14, nearly 17.13 lakh metric tonne paddy has been procured including 1661272 MT by government agencies and 51307 MT by the millers.
Out of the total procurement, 651652 MT of paddy has been purchased by PUNGRAIN , 442903 metric tonnes by MARKFED and 314262 MT by PUNSUP while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation purchased 219926 MT paddy and FCI purchased 32529 MT.
Detailing the lifting statistics, he said percentage of lifting paddy against the 72 hour norm is over 43 % of the total arrivals, upto October 11.
He further informed that mill allotment process is on and more and more agreements are being signed by the millers with each passing day. He said that as many as 2354 mills have been allotted so far including 290 in Moga, 247 in Sangrur, 230 in Patiala, 198 in Ludhiana (W), 184 in Ludhiana (E), 177 in Muktsar, 128 in Bathinda, 115 in Barnala and 114 in Ferozepur.
Besides, 1330 mills have signed agreement with the government including 40 out of 40 mills in Hoshiarpur, 175 out of 177 in Muktsar, 81 out of 88 in Jalandhar,15 out of 17 in Amritsar ,49 out of 52 mills in Fazilka, 90 out of 114 in Ferozepur,17 out of 21 in Tarn Taran,60 out of 65 in Kapurthala said he adding that more agreements are expected to be signed in days to come.
