NEW DELHI, July 25 — The SADD felicitated eight Congress MPs from Punjab & specially S. Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, Advisor to CM Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh at a affective ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The event was attended by Pakistan’s acting High Commissioner and prominent members of the capital’s Punjabi community.
“Your victory is emblematic of the voters’ generous embrace of honest and secular political representation in the face of unscrupulous forces in Punjab,” SADD chief Paramjit Singh Sarna told the Congress lawmakers during the felicitation ceremony.
In their addresses, the MPs & S. Chahal praised the SADD leadership for their Panthak endeavours, especially in connection with the proposed Kartarpur Sahib corridor and the cross-border Nagar Kirtan scheduled for October 28 in New Delhi to reach Sri Nankana Sahib on November 1.
Sardar Sarna thanked the lawmakers for their support as he informed them of the Sangat’s overwhelming response to the planned Nagar Kirtan commemorating the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib.
“Anti-Sikh and anti-Punjab forces have been trying to sabotage the holy procession. But we have full faith in the Sangat, which we believe will turn the historic Nagar Kirtan into a stupendous success,” Sardar Sarna said.
