Chandigarh April 16: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau registered a case against Gurdeep Singh, Inspector posted at Punjab Roadways depot Amritsar for amassing huge wealth than the disclosed sources of his income by misusing his official position.
Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said during the investigation, the VB team have chosen a specific check period from the year 2011 to 2016 during which the accused was holding a responsible posting and found that Inspector Gurdeep Singh has got total income of Rs. 84,26,761/-. During the check period, he had spent Rs. 2,07,92,005/- on various moveable and immoveable properties including other expenditures, he added.
The spokesperson said a case had been registered against the accused under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act at VB police station Amritsar.
