Fatehgarh Sahib, April 13 – Punjab’s first online CNG filling station on Delhi-Amritsar National Highway (NH-44) inaugurated at Dasmesh HP centre Harbanspura (Fatehgarh Sahib) by Sr. Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amrinder Singh. During this his wife Smt. Jaswinder Kaur Chahal, his son S. Bikramjit Inder Singh Chahal, his daughter in law Smt. Kamaljit Kaur Chahal and grandson S. Gursher Inder Singh Chahal were also present.
While inaugurating the Gas station S. Chahal said that this gas station was Punjab’s first online CNG filling station situated on National Highway 44, Delhi-Amritsar GT Road. Project cost was Rs. 2.5 crore and it had been established on the CNG gas pipeline by IRM energy
With the help of CNG gas pipeline the gas would be available 24X7 at this station, whereas at other gas stations, CNG was stored and filled by the tankers. This station has total 03 dispensers and 6 nozzles. Separate dispensers have been installed here for heavy vehicles such as buses and trucks and separate dispensers for other vehicles also.
Giving further details Assistant Sales Manager, H.P., Sh. Gaurav Yadav said that CNG was very economical as compare to diesel & petrol and it also helps in reducing the pollution. He said that sources of petrol & diesel were decreasing day by day. As such, CNG was an effective alternative. He said that awareness regarding this was also increasing with which the number of CNG vehicles were also on rise.
Large number of vehicles commutes regularly on Delhi-Amritsar Highway. As such, to facilitate those vehicles, this CNG filling station would be very helpful. After inauguration, a long line of CNG vehicles was also witnessed. During this Assistant Sales Manager IRM (Fatehgarh Sahib) Sh. Gaurav Gupta along with staff members of Petrol Pump were also present.
