Mohali: For the facilitation of the applicants now only the online applications will be accepted for the Indian Citizenship. This step has been taken under the Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) Project of the Government. The core objective of this project is to develop and implement a secure and integrated service delivery framework that facilitates the applicants while strengthening the security.’ Stating this Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar said that under this project the services for foreigners staying in India and who need services like visa extension, visa conversion, exit permit, registration, change of passport details, change of address etc. had been also provided.
She said that from now onwards manual applications would not be accepted. Giving the reference of the letter issued by Department of Home Affairs and Justice, Punjab she said that V.P.N. Token for the District had been issued and training had been provided to all the concerned officials twice regarding this project. She disclosed that the applicants could apply On-Line at www.indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in and moreover link regarding this has been also provided at the website of the district i.e. www.sasnagar.gov.in.
