Chandigarh: Revenue Officers, who were on strike since May 28, have called off their strike on Friday after an assurance by the Punjab Revenue Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria and the Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR) Vini Mahajan to reinvestigate the matter pertaining to Bassi Pathana Tehsildar. Notably, the Tehsildar was arrested by the vigilance. Revenue Officers announced to work on Saturday (June 2) to compensate the loss cause to the state and inconvenience to the general public.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of Revenue department said that the Punjab Revenue Officer’s association has also assured that they besides attending offices on Saturday, the weekly holiday, would also work over time on other working days in the larger public interest.
