Chandigarh: Monsoon has knocked at the coastal areas of Kerala. Private agency Skymet has claimed that the monsoon has reached Kerala. The Meteorological Department has said that monsoon clouds to be formed in Kerala in 24 hours. Rains have started in coastal areas of southern Kerala. The Meteorological Department has forecast the monsoon to remain normal this year. In the next 24 hours, some parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, the Bay of Bengal along with the Andaman and Nicobar are expected to see heavy rain.
The monsoon is expected to reach Punjab in the first week of July. The weather to remain completely dry before June 8 in Punjab, the temperature will remain above 42 degrees. However, light rainfall is expected around June 10. If the monsoon remains at a good speed, it can be in Punjab till July 1. Last year the monsoon arrived in the state on July 11.
