Bengaluru: The BJP is at 104, Congress gets 78 and JD(S) wins 38 as Karnataka results comes up as the hung assembly.
Hectic politics are underway in Karnataka on a day when votes were counted in the southern state’s Assembly Election. The ball is now in the Governor’s court and he can decide which side to invite first.
Even as the BJP emerged the single largest party in the state, it failed to cross the halfway mark. The Congress, learning from its past mistakes in Manipur and Goa where it reacted late, sprung a surprise when it offered support to the JD(S). Deve Gowda’s party has accepted the offer of support and will stake claim to form the government in Karnataka.
