New Delhi: The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has decided to install statues of Baba Jassa Singh Ramgarhia Ji, Baba Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Ji and Baba Baghel Singh Ji in the National Capital with the motive to educate and inspire young generation.
Disclosing this in a statement released here today, Manjinder Singh Sirsa General Secretary DSGMC said that these statues are being prepared by special maker Prabhat Rai of Gwalior Madhaya Pradesh and will be readied by first week of July. He said that each of these statues will be 10 feet wide and 12 feet in height. He said that these will be bronze statues with a mix of copper, tin, zinc, lead and manganese. He said that each of the statue will have 1.25 ton weight.
Sirsa said that a team of members of DSGMC had recently visited Gwalior to oversee the preparation of these statues and was satisfied with the design. He said that statues will have all the three great marshals riding horse which symbolizes their marshal nature of leadership.
He said that main motive of installing these statues is to get young generation equipped with the history of these three great men who were the first conquerors of the Delhi and had defeated Mughals who had to leave Delhi after getting defeated in their hands. He said that history of these great marshals have not been included properly in the books so the young generation is unaware about the conquests of these leaders. He said that with installation of these statues will be a step forward to teach young generation about these three marshals.
