Chandigarh(Wishav Warta): Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will meet with Congress chief Rahul Gandhi post afternoon and final discussion will be held for Punjab Cabinet expansion. The list of names under consideration to be submitted to Rahul Gandhi today. According to the information, the Chief Minister wants to add 6 to 7 new ministers to the Cabinet, while the total of 9 vacancies. Also be present at the meeting will be in-charge of Punjab affairs Asha Kumari and PPCC chief Sunil Jakhar.
The new ministers, which will be included in the cabinet, are likely to be sworn in on April 24. Governor VP Singh Badnore has instructed his Secretariat to keep the post afternoon time free on 24th April and no other work on this day has been ordered. The governor is going to Patiala on 23 April and will be busy in programs all day while the Chief Minister’s return from Delhi is possible on April 20 or 21.
Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa is one of the front-runners to get the post of minister It is also discussed in the Congress circles that the Congress high command wants to include Sangrur MLA Vijayinder Singla and Ludhiana-West MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the cabinet. Similarly, Sukhbinder Singh Sukhsarkaria from Amritsar and Raj Kumar Verka from Amritsar Western, either one or both can be included in the cabinet whereas Tanda Udmur MLA Sangat Singh Gilljian, Jalandhar Cantt MLA Pargat Singh’s names are also in discussion. Rahul’s Youth brigade leaders Sirhind MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra and Giddarbaha MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Warring are also under consideration.
Congress national president Rahul Gandhi may decide to fill all 9 seats to get more leaders in the cabinet. It is also discussed in the administrative constituencies that after the increase in the cabinet, the Chief Minister can make some changes in the departments of the present ministers.
