Chandigarh, January 16: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has expressed shock and grief over the tragic road accident in which a school teacher was killed and 20 students were injured near Goraya on National Highway-1 on Tuesday morning.
The Chief Minister has also directed the Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar to ensure the best possible free of cost treatment to those injured in the mishap and extend all possible help to them.
The tragedy occurred when the ill-fated PRTC bus carrying children from Government Senior Secondary School, Tungan district Sangrur, on an educational trip to Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, rammed into a stationary truck at Goraya.
Expressing his heartfelt condolences for the bereaved family of the school teacher, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give them courage to bear this irreparable loss and grant eternal peace to the departed soul. He also wished for speedy recovery for the injured students.
