Chandigarh, December 26: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Industry Inspector of Barnala red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 4,000/-.
Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Industry Inspector Mohinder Singh was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Darshan Dass of Tapa Mandi, Barnala district. The complainant has approached the VB and informed that the accused Inspector was demanding Rs. 4000 to get approval for the subsidy on a loan for a photo state machine from higher authorities.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused Inspector was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 4,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses
He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
